FAQ

Where is your office located?

My office is located in downtown Parker in the beautiful Parker Station offices at 19751 E. Mainstreet #360, Parker, CO 80138.  I also offer sessions through telehealth, which means you can connect with me from the comfort of your home in Colorado.

How long is a session?
Sessions are 50 minutes.
What do I do to get started?

Fill out the contact form here. That’s it! I will reach out to schedule a free 15-minute consultation to answer any questions and talk about the next steps.

How do I pay?
You will fill out a credit card information form before your first session. I will charge the card after each session. Please reach out if you need to make other arrangements.
Do you accept insurance?
No, I do not accept insurance.
Why don't you accept insurance?

Insurance companies require a diagnosis and dictate the number of therapy sessions and type of therapy provided. Private pay clients benefit from flexible, collaborative treatment options and don’t have to worry about a diagnosis documented in their medical record.

Can I cancel an appointment? Do you have a cancellation policy?

Sometimes things don’t go according to plan and you need to cancel an appointment. Just provide a 24-hour cancelation notice and you won’t be charged your session fee.

What is a free initial phone consultation?
A free initial phone consultation allows you to get acquainted with me and ask any questions. It also allows me to ask questions to ensure I can help. If we decide it’s a good fit, we will discuss scheduling and make your first appointment.
With whom do you work?

I work with adults ages 18+, individuals and couples.

How long will I be in therapy?

It’s a great question without a definitive answer. That’s because the timeline in therapy is different for everyone. We will discuss your goals and how you’ll know when you’re ready to graduate from therapy. I typically recommend weekly sessions for 4-6 weeks, at which point we will evaluate progress and session frequency.

How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?

After the 15-minute consultation, you will have a feel for my demeanor and approach. I am probably a good fit if I feel easy to talk to and you like what you hear about how I can help. Your relationship with me is the foundation of your work together. So, if you can imagine developing a trusting relationship with me, that’s a great sign.

Do couples argue in front of you?
Yep! And that’s okay. Whatever happens at home will likely come into the therapy room at some point. When we can see what is happening at home, it helps us figure out what is happening under the relationship’s surface. And that’s a great place to start!
What should I do if I have an urgent mental health concern outside of scheduled sessions?

I do not offer emergency or after-hours services and will respond to messages within 48 business hours.

Therefore, if you have an urgent mental health concern, please call the Colorado Crisis Services at 1-844-493-8255. If you are experiencing an emergency, please dial 911.

Do I have to lie on a couch?
No, but you can!
Should I wear waterproof mascara?
Up to you! My intent is not to make you cry, but tears are one of the human body’s brilliant ways to release stored-up emotions, stress, and tension. Some folks cry every session, and others cry less so. You do you!
Am I allowed to ask personal questions?

My priority is to create a space where you feel comfortable being curious, open, and honest. If you have a question on your mind, you’re always welcome to ask!
